When I belly dance I feel entranced into an ancient mysterious world rich with ambiance. I feel my dance is telling an ancient mystical tale that is longed by the heart to be told.
Since I was a young girl I have been in love with the art form of dance. I would pretend I was mesmerizing Mata Hari. While dancing in a hypnotic snake like dance, or a passionate gypsy dancing enchanting people with my swirling skirt. I took ballet as a young girl. But ballet did not touch my soul like Middle Eastern dance.
I returned to my true love belly dance.
I began belly dance in 2003. I have taken numerous workshops to learn from world famous belly dance teachers over the years. I have been teaching for over 10 years. These days I’m excited to teach the many facets of belly dance at the Illuminated Soul Wellness Center.
Zaira Zahirah
My belly dance name is Zaira Zahirah. My name means blooming shining essence of rose. A flower can provoke powerful emotions, change the whole ambiance of a room, enlighten and heal with their enticing aromas. All women are beautiful flowers in the garden of life. Women of every age, shape or color have their own unique dance of beauty. Belly Dance is an ancient art form thousands of years old. Women of any age can belly dance. Belly dance is an art form that heals the body.
